Lea Michele flashes a brave smile as she makes her first trip to New York since tragic death of Cory Monteith

It’s been two months since the tragic death of the late Cory Monteith. But Lea Michele showed her strength of character and flashed a brave smile for the cameras as she jetted into New York on Saturday.

The actress has returned to work on season five of Glee, the show where she and Cory met and fell in love, and has been spending time with close friends as she deals with her loss.

She carried a large black bag and wore her hair in a topknot, while large black sunglasses shielded her eyes.
Earlier in the week, Lea was working hard on the set of Glee, tweeting a message about her day.

She wrote ‘Back at work:) Lots of dancing happening on set today w/ @NayaRivera!’
While Lea was delighted to be working with Naya again, her 26-year-old co-star admitted everyone was finding it difficult to deal with Cory’s death.
‘We’re definitely taking it day by day. Everybody’s really just leaning on each other and trying to do good work,’ Naya told Latina magazine.

The cast recently filmed an emotionally charged tribute episode to the late actor which is due to air October 10 in which they deal with his character Finn Hudson’s death and it was met with some mixed reactions.

‘[Some cast members] are having to play reactions that they obviously would not feel in real-life, and that’s a weird thing to play,’ Glee star Kevin McHale told the Inquisitr.
‘Because you want people to know how you actually feel. But (writer Ryan Murphy and company) are staying true to the characters, and that’s the smart thing to do.’
