Kate Middleton gave birth to her first child safely at the St. Mary’s Hospital in West London.

The Buckingham Palace announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, welcomed a bouncing baby boy at 4.24 pm local time. The baby weighs eight pounds and six ounces.

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight,” said a statement from the Royal Household.
