Touted as the African Oscars – Nollywood & African Film Critics Awards (NAFCA) winners were announced on September 14 at a red-carpet event at the legendary Warner Theatre in Washington D.C. The prestigious African Oscars -NAFCA are presented by Nollywood & African Film Critics USA.

Ghana’s Jackie Appiah picked up the award for Best Actress in a leading role beating Beverly Naya, Iretiola Doyle, Mbufung Seikeh, and Genevieve Nnaji. ‘Turning Point’ which features Jackie Appiah was also one of the big winners of the night picking multiple awards.
