‘Back In The Day’ Concert 2013 Dedicated To Ronnie Coches

Organizers of the annual ‘Back In The Day’ concert have announced that this year’s concert, which comes off on December 6, will be dedicated to late Ronnie Coches.

Ronnie, 36, died on November 21 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a heart attack. He was part of hiplife group, Buk-Bak, which also has Prince Bright aka Bling Sparkles as a member.CEO of Empire Entertainment, Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, the brain behind the concert, explained to Myjoyonline.com that the decision to dedicate the event to Ronnie Coaches was borne out of his immense contribution to the growth of hiplife in the country from the 1990s till his passing.

According to him, the core theme of the annual ‘Back In The Day’ concert is to reminisce some of the 1990s great artistes and tunes and afford Ghanaians a unique opportunity to relive the glorious days of a young but vibrant hiplife music genre “which Ronnie Coches and Buk Bak played a key role in.”

Last year’s event witnessed some of the biggest names in Ghanaian music in the 1990s, including Obrafour, VIP, Sony Achiba, Ex-Doe, and T-Blaze, mounting the stage to give off performances that music lovers had missed for years.

This year’s concert will be headlined by legendary American hiphop group, Naughty by Nature, and it will also feature performances from Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour and TH4Kwages.

According to Bola Ray, there were will be special tribute performances by some artistes to the memory of Ronnie Coaches, adding that some family members of the late musician, including his father and mother, will also be attending the event.

“Although Ronnie Coches is gone, his legacy still lives on,” Bola Ray, who is also the host of Drive Time on Joy FM noted.

Tickets for the show are going for GHc60 (Regular) and GHc100 (VIP) and can be purchased at Joy FM and Empire Entertainment.
