Shatta Wale paid wrote a song for the late Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, who was mistaken for an armed robber and was lynched by some residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region. It was reported that he was jogging along the Denkyira Boase-Diaso road when he stopped to ask some women for direction and they saw a pistol on him. He wasn’t wearing a uniform. The women called the Assembly man who organized some of the youth of the town to lynch him.
According to his father Captain Dennis Mahama, he was in Denkyire Obuasi for two weeks for work. This he said in an interview on UpFront.
The late Maxwell was the nephew of Ghana’s former President John Dramani Mahama.
