Recently, artiste Mr. Eazi was a guest on Capital Xtra’s Reggae Recipe where he made known that most Nigerian artistes are copying his style of music, which is Banku music – a merger between Ghanaian and Nigerian sounds. He has received a lot of backlash about it.

There have been reports that Runtown wasn’t happy with Mr. Eazi’s utterance on most Nigerian artistes copying his style. It seemed like Runtown wrote a tweet which is addressed to Mr. Eazi:

Asked by radio presenter Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s Total Showbiz on 11 September if he is cool with Runtown, he said: “I’m cool with Runtown”.

According to the founder of Banku music, his followership on social media has increased, likewise the sales of his songs on various digital platforms since his interview on Capital Xtra’s Reggae Recipe.
